Test Yourself: Ireland’s Trickiest Road Signs

Think you know Irish road signs? Think again! The Irish Driver Theory Test was updated last year, which means new questions and fresh challenges for first-time drivers.

But it’s not just new licensees who should be familiar with the rules of the road — every pedestrian, passenger and driver should know how to stay safe (and protect others) while travelling on Irish roads.

The Irish Road Safety Authority has all the official revision material you’ll need to pass the new Driver Theory Test, but just for fun, we’ve put together a quick quiz to test your knowledge of Ireland’s trickiest road signs. Let’s see how you do!

Enter our competition

The most recent figures available from the Central Statistics Office indicate a driving test pass rate of about 51.8%, which means that unfortunately, almost half of all applicants are failing. Make sure you’re prepared by studying well in advance, getting plenty of practice in and having someone test you on all the most common questions.

Want to boost your chances? Enter our competition over on our socials to be in with a chance of winning a Driving Ireland “Road to Success" game. Designed for one to eight players, the box comes with four fun card games that help you learn the rules of the road, test your knowledge of road signs and learn the language and terminology used in the test. We have ten of these innovative games to give away.

Competition closes at 1pm Monday 27th January 2025 so enter before then to be in with a chance of winning.
